Russia day 2-6

After our incredible stay at babushka, our journey went on through Bopohex and into Tambov, where we spent two days at a hotel, due to the Visa-rules.
From Tambov we drove towards Yekaterinburg, passing through the cities of Penza (Spelled Neh3a), Samara, Yøa and Shleblinsk, a distance similar with the whole length of Norway. (This is based on the good measurement of “distance between thumb and index finger” on a map, so it might be a bit off.) We finally had some real camping-time, sleeping outside under the open sky just about 120 km from Samara, and the next day outside Shleblinsk.

The landscape and the road we drove through could make you believe we already had reached America. Flat terrain, straight roads for miles and miles. Then we drove into more Norwegian nature as we passed through the Urals. Long and steep hills, with curvy roads. Every hill had a sign that told us about the increase, usually around 7-10%, but you could easily find out the same by counting the number of the broken Lorries that we pasted.

We arrived Yekaterinburg late Wednesday evening, our 6th day in Russia, and could celebrate our first milestone of the journey: We had driven from Norway, through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Russia, a distance of about 5 000 km, without any breakdowns, and had now entered the Asian continent! Update from Yekaterinburg will be added in a day or two.
