After a long pancake breakfast we spent the next couple of hours with Irena in the neighborhood. When we got back to her babushka, the family had come to greet us and serve a traditional Russian dinner.
We were joined by Tatyana, the aunt, with her son Max and his girlfriend Ina. Boris, the uncle, brought his wife, also named Tatyana, and his two children, Alex and Marina.
The Russian dinner was of course served with vodka, and the entertainment was Russian folk-songs from Irena’s family and Norwegian folk-songs, like “bæ bæ lille lam” and “Gutta” (By Jokke & Valentinerne) performed by us.

The next day started early. Around 10 a.m, Boris met up with us to show us more from the area. We traveled through an area that used to be a lake a couple of million years ago, and it was easy to find fossils in the rocks. The landscape itself was truly breath-taking. It was totally flat at all directions, with an amazing sky over it all. Extremely pretty and probably the best view we`ll ever have in Russia.
We finished our trip at Boris and Tatjanas house where we once again were given a great meal. We had to leave Irena and her family that day, because of the visa-rules (Need to stay at a hotel to get some sort of document within 3 days of border-crossing), but Irena and her family will always be remembered by us, and we can`t express how grateful we are.

Fantastisk, enkelt og greit.
